Kathmandu
For most visitors to Nepal, the Kathmandu Valley is their arrival point and the epicenter of their visit. The small mountain-sheltered valley is the historical center of Nepal, the place where kingdoms rose and fell, and palaces and temples were built, destroyed and rebuilt, and Nepali art and Culture were developed and refined.The bowl-like Kathmandu Valley is about 25 km from east to west, perhaps 20 km form north to south. Kathmandu lies at a height of around 1300m, while the surrounding hills range from 15000m to 2800m in height. If you fly in, you clearly see how isolated and unusual the valley is-embedded like a jewel among endless rugged mountains.

The Kathmandu Valley has a temperate climate that is pleasant mos of the year. Snow is almost unheard of, although there are frosts. Monsoons are nowhere near as severe as they are on the plains. Between October and March the temperature in Kathmandu can become quite and cold at night(0 degree Celsius) and the days become short, although it's sunny and warm.Visibility in Kathmandu Valley is good from October to early February.
